The majority of collage works that Julie creates feature women and children, inspired by the relationships and experiences that she has encountered. Fashion also influences the artwork that is produced with a strong lean towards mid-century eras.
An initial image or concept is what inspires Julie when creating each piece. The concept then forms and develops with background colors to contrast or compliment the initial image.
Julie’s works are created with an intuitive nature, very rarely planned initially. She gains so much pleasure from the process of placing images, experimenting with composition and different backgrounds until the final artwork feels right to her and an emotional connection is made.
